we developed the official filmbook — a comprehensive visual document that captures the narrative, aesthetic, and conceptual universe of A Última Sessão, a feature film by Estúdio Popó.
built from the core tension that drives the movie — creation as existence, and the fragile line between fiction and reality — the filmbook translates its multi-layered structure into a clear, compelling editorial experience.
A Última Sessão is a feature-length film composed of four independent short films, each with its own story, tone, and visual identity — all framed by a fictional talk show that binds them together. this hybrid format required a document capable of honoring both the individuality of each short and the cohesion of the whole.
our filmbook was designed precisely for that: to map the film’s fragmented architecture while illuminating the conceptual dialogue that connects its parts.
a fundamental part of the filmbook’s construction is its grid system. the layout is built on a modular structure that mirrors the film’s own rhythm: fragmented, intentional, and precise. more than an organizational tool, the grid operates as a narrative device: it guides the reader through layers of information with the same logic the film uses to guide the viewer through its stories.
spacing, alignment, and negative space were carefully calibrated to create pauses, tension, and flow, allowing each element — text, image, and silence — to breathe with purpose.
across the filmbook, each short film unfolds in its own section: narrative synopsis, character profiles, stylistic direction, color language, cinematography approach, emotional themes, and symbolic layers.
these are expanded through stills, behind-the-scenes material, director’s notes, and visual analyses that contextualize how each story contributes to the overarching universe of A Última Sessão.
more than documentation, the filmbook becomes a living archive of the film’s creative pulse, a record of how Estúdio Popó’s A Última Sessão was imagined, constructed, and ultimately brought to life.
